With programs like Bootcamp or software emulation, you are able to install and run Windows on your Mac and switch between the two OSs easily. With Apple computers now using Intel processors, they are able to run Windows. It’s doubtful that you could control a PowerPoint presentation with your iPhone.Ī Mac can do anything a Windows PC can.
It doesn’t work with other applications developed by Apple for the Mac, like iTunes or other iLife software. Instead they created software with one foot in the Mac world and one foot in the PC world. It makes sense on paper that Microsoft wouldn’t want to change the overall functions of their program to behave like their competitors. Unlike other programs designed to work with the avenues used by Apple, this office software was designed more to work like a PC within a Mac. The only downfall of Microsoft Office for Mac is that it wasn’t developed with Mac in mind. Another option (and the one I have taken) is to play games on a video game console, such as a PS3 or Wii, and simply use your computer for computing. You could run Bootcamp, but if you are going to spend most of your time on a Mac running Windows, you have to ask yourself if it is worth it.
If you are a gamer, a Mac is probably not the best choice. There are very few games available for the Mac.
